Electric fireplaces can bring the warmth and ambiance of a fireplace to places where a real fireplace is impractical or even impossible. Features freestanding floor models such as compact and portable electric stoves and cozy corner fireplaces. Imitation stone fireplaces can provide a traditional look or you can enhance an Electric Fireplace with a more modern design concept. The versatility of the electronic fireplace also allows for more creativity through custom design.

Traditional design

A small electric fireplace mounted on a large or small wall can be enhanced with building materials that provide the look of a traditional built-in electric fireplace. A mantel mounted on a wall-mounted fireplace or mantel plug-in will provide the base for decorations such as candlesticks, clocks or figurines. Freestanding floor model with mantle and fireplace surround. Using masonry kits, a brick exterior wall can be constructed to mimic a real chimney. Stones or tiles can be used to build the furnace to complete the look. Wooden bookshelves, books, plants and gadgets on either side of the brick facade will provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere inside the traditional style guest room.

Contemporary design

In modern or contemporary rooms, floating shelves with art glass collections can appear on one side of the fireplace, while large fabric panels, canvas paintings or metal wall art can be placed on the other side. Wall-mounted flat-screen TVS are often found on top of wall-mounted electric fireplaces in modern and traditional homes, and wall-mounted fireplaces are often a focal point on oishi walls as well. Built-in lit niches displaying high-end artwork such as sculpture, ceramics or art glass are another option. Contemporary design is often minimalist. Installing separate offset floating shelves above and below the fireplace, with one or two display items on each shelf, can make a big difference.

Corner or alcove design

Unlike traditional fireplaces, you don't have to worry about ventilation or smoke from electric fireplaces. Built-in nooks or niches in large walls provide a perfect place for electric fireplaces. Here, you can add built-in seats by covering existing ledges. Add a recessed light or ceiling fixture above a fireplace or sconce on either side. Wood paneling and molding installed in and around the corners will help complete this cozy little space, perfect for curling up with a good book. Placing a separate conversation area in front of a corner also helps establish it as a focal point in the room.

Two-way fireplace design

A large wall separating the two rooms can provide the opportunity to install a two-way or double-sided fireplace. Increase the efficiency of the fireplace by heating two rooms at once, while expanding the aesthetic. Decorations displayed on hollowed out shelves can be seen from the sides. This design concept can also be accomplished with an external corner fireplace, which has a surround effect. Wall cutting for a double-sided fireplace is an advanced project that requires consultation with a professional contractor.
